Walter van Beek

Academic

Walter van Beek is an emeritus professor known for his anthropological work, particularly among the Dogon people, and for serving as the President of the World Draughts and Checkers Federation (FMJD) for over a decade. He has held academic positions at Utrecht University and Tilburg University (where he was Chair of Anthropology of Religion), and is currently a Senior Researcher at the African Studies Centre Leiden.
