Nefertiti (c. 1370–1330 BC) was the Great Royal Wife and High Priestess of Aten to Pharaoh Akhenaten during Egypt's 18th Dynasty, reigning approximately 1353–1336 BCE. She co-led the shift to Atenism, a near-monotheistic religion, which was controversial for upending traditional polytheistic worship. Nefertiti may have also ruled as Pharaoh Neferneferuaten, though this is debated by scholars.
