Daniel Burnham (1846–1912) was a prominent architect and urban planner. He co-founded Burnham and Root (1873-1891) and later D.H. Burnham & Co. (1891-1912), designing over 500 buildings. Burnham served as Director of Works for the World's Columbian Exposition in Chicago and contributed to urban plans for Washington D.C. (McMillan Commission) and the Philippines.
